Lodging — How It Works for Weddings & Events

One of the things couples love most about The Black Diamond Lodge is the ability to host their entire wedding weekend with their favorite people all in one place. Our private, buyout-only lodge makes it possible to stay, celebrate, and gather under one roof. Because our accommodations are unique, here’s a clear breakdown of how lodging works for you and your guests.

The Basics: Lodge Capacity & Room Types

The Black Diamond Lodge comfortably sleeps up to 42 guests across 12 private rooms, all with en-suite bathrooms.

  • 9 Hotel-Style Rooms
These rooms feature a king, queen, or two queen beds with a private bathroom.

  • 3 Bunk-Style Rooms
Each bunk-style room sleeps up to eight guests and still includes a private bathroom. While we call them “bunk rooms,” there are no bunk beds. Instead, they feature individual twin beds, some of which can be combined into king beds to fit your guest needs.

The Details: Accessibility, Pets & Room Locations

  • Dog-Friendly Rooms:
    Rooms 1–6 are dog-friendly with a one-time $50 pet deposit.
To accommodate allergies and preferences, rooms 7–12 are not dog-friendly.

  • Floor Layout:

    • Rooms 1–7 are on the ground floor

    • Rooms 8–12 are upstairs

  • Accessibility:
Rooms 2 and 4 are handicap accessible.

  • Extra Sleeping Options:
Rollaway beds and Pack ’n Plays are available upon request in any room.

How Lodging Assignments Work (Important!)

When you book The Black Diamond Lodge for your wedding or event, you reserve the entire property. Because of this:

  • Guests do not book rooms individually

  • You assign who stays where

We strongly recommend not listing The Black Diamond Lodge as a general “place to stay” on your wedding website. Doing so often leads to guests calling us to book rooms, and we then have to explain that the lodge is fully reserved for a private event.

Most couples choose to:

  • House their wedding party, immediate family, and closest friends in the lodge

  • Have additional guests stay at nearby hotels or rentals (we’re happy to provide recommendations)

Guest Payments

You have complete flexibility in how lodging costs are handled:

  • You may cover lodging entirely

  • You may split costs with guests

  • You may pass costs on to guests however you choose

We collect guest payments at check-in and apply all payments to your final invoice. Any overage is refunded directly to you.

Once decisions are finalized, you’ll complete our Room Assignment Worksheet to let us know exactly who is staying in each room

WHAT TO TELL GUESTS NOT STAYING IN THE LODGE

We know it can be awkward to explain to a guest that they are not able to stay in our lodge, so we suggest something like this: “We have reserved the lodge for our bridal party and immediate family, however, we would love for you to stay nearby! HERE is a list of some suggestions. You are welcome to use any of the amenities that the lodge provides because you are a guest of ours!”

WHAT TO TELL GUESTS WHO ARE STAYING IN THE LODGE

When you assign a guest to stay in a room, they DO NOT need to call us and reserve their room or pay ahead of time. We suggest telling these guests: “We’ve reserved a room for you at the lodge, you will pay upon check in and can expect to pay $--- when you get there. No need to call the lodge to reserve as we have already booked the entire place directly. For more info on the lodge, check them out HERE.
