Welcome! As you likely know, this lodge is under new ownership and we’re so excited to share this space and property with you! We fell in love with this area upon visiting and have hired an incredible team of long-time locals to make your stay with us everything you dreamed it would be.

By booking our space, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please initial each of the following sections to acknowledge that you have read our policies and agree to communicate them to your guests. Our policies and house rules do change from time to time, so please check back often.

We’re excited for everyone’s stay to be as great as it can be!

Booking & Payments

BOOKING GUARANTEE

All reservations must be guaranteed with a valid major credit card.  Guests booking the lodge must be 18 years and older.  We accept Visa, Master Card, American Express, and Discover Card.  We do not charge your credit card at the time you make your reservations.  Your credit card guarantees your reservations. Please make sure to receive a reservation confirmation number when you make a reservation. The Black Diamond Lodge is not responsible for weather conditions, personal emergencies, or schedule changes.

GUEST PAYMENTS

Should you decide to have your guests contribute to the lodging total, we are happy to bill the guests directly. Please provide us with a list of rooms, amounts, and full names upon check-in and we can bill your guests accordingly. Let your guests know that the wedding day is the best day to find one of our staff members and settle up payment as those are the days we have the most staff on property. The responsible party’s card will be authorized for the full payment amount upon check-in no matter if the guests have paid or not. That authorization hold will be lifted in 3-5 days. The responsible party will be responsible for any remaining lodging balance upon checkout. If there is an overpayment for any reason, it will be refunded to the guests.

BOOKING REQUIREMENTS

We require valid contact information from the guest making the reservations including: first and last name, address, phone number, email address, and signature.  The first and last names of all guests occupying all rooms must be provided upon check-in.

CLEANING FEE *

The Black Diamond Lodge charges a cleaning fee per reservation. This cleaning fee is subject to change and will be determined upon booking.

TAXES

The Black Diamond Lodge charges county and state lodging and sales tax according to local tax regulations. These tax amounts will be transparent during the booking process.

PAYMENT METHOD

We do not accept checks.  We do not provide check cashing services. We do not keep cash change on hand and although we will accept cash, we highly prefer cards. Reservations, whether paid in cash or not, require a card to keep on file and to authorize for the damage deposit.

CANCELLATION

We reserve the right to cancel any booking without compensation, refund, or reimbursement if the terms of these conditions are breached. In the rare event we need to cancel your booking with us for a different reason, please be aware that we cannot be held liable for circumstances beyond our control and that our liability to you is limited to the refund of any payment already made.

REFUNDS

100% of paid prepayments are refundable when canceled 90 days before arrival or earlier. 50% of paid prepayments are refundable when canceled 60 days before arrival or earlier. 0% of pre-payments are refundable if canceled within 60 days of your scheduled arrival.

Check-In

CHECK-IN

Check-in is at 4:00pm on the day of your scheduled visit. Any early check-in to the common areas of the lodge OR the lodging rooms must be arranged ahead of time and will be arranged for 2:00pm on the scheduled arrival day. A $250 early check-in fee will be charged to your card on file once an early check-in is arranged.

CHECK-IN REQUIREMENTS

Guests must be at least 18 years of age to check in at The Black Diamond Lodge.  In the interests of security and to prevent fraud, guests are required to confirm their identity by providing their valid government issued photo identification (State driver’s license, passport, etc.) at check-in.  A valid, signed, and pre-approved credit card in the name of the guest registration is also required.  It is your responsibility to fully understand the manner in which your bank processes pre-authorizations and charges to your credit/debit card.  Some banks hold pending authorizations for up to 30 business days.

PRE-AUTHORIZATION

We require pre-authorization of credit cards/debit cards at check-in. A pre-authorization is a temporary hold of a specific amount of your available credit limit balance placed on your credit/debit card for the full amount of your intended stay, plus tax.  All credit/debit cards are pre-authorized at check-in.  Pre-authorization is not a charge to your account, it is a hold on those funds.  Once your actual charge is posted at checkout, it can take anywhere from 24 hours to 30 days for the original pre-authorization to be removed by your bank.  Generally, most banks release the hold within 3-5 days.  It is your responsibility to be aware of how your bank handles all of your transactions, including pre-authorizations.  We are unable to remove pre-authorizations directly through our hotel.

DAMAGE DEPOSITS

The Black Diamond Lodge requires damage deposits via credit card authorization upon check-in. Our team will authorize your card for the amount of $1500. Any damages, late checkout fees, etc will be deducted from this amount within 7 days of your checkout if needed. Otherwise your authorization hold will be lifted at that time. The Black Diamond Lodge reserves the right to retain your credit card and/or debit card details as presented at registration and charge or debit the card for any charges needed.

Your liability for damages IS NOT limited to this $1500. If greater damages, whether intentional or accidental, are incurred during your stay by you or anyone in your party, you will be responsible for paying the full amount above the $1500 needed to repair, clean, or replace any damages. Guest rooms, the parking lot, or common areas found with waste strewn about, in complete disorder or “Trashed” WILL be charged for the additional deep cleaning. Any missing items including towels, bedding or pillows will also be charged at 120% full and new replacement value plus any shipping charges. Guests or visitors found to have tampered with any fire detection or fire-fighting equipment throughout the property will be charged with any costs incurred by the hotel due to their actions and will be evicted. In extreme cases, criminal charges will be pursued.

Please inquire with us during the checkout process to ensure you leave the lodge in a responsible manner and won’t get charged later on. Please review the attached checkout checklist for a great start!

DOOR CODES

Door codes to each lodging room can either be provided to one designated party or distributed to each individual guest. Type in the code, then turn the deadbolt to unlock the room door. To lock, simply press the top rectangle button and again, turn the deadbolt.

Checkout

CHECKOUT

Checkout is at 10:00am on the day of your scheduled departure. Any late checkout to the common areas of the lodge OR the lodging rooms must be arranged ahead of time and will be arranged for 12:00pm on the scheduled departure. A $250 late checkout fee will be charged to your card on file once a late checkout is arranged. Should you stay past 10:00am without prior-arrangements, you will be charged a $500 late checkout fee due to the high demand and quick turnovers in our lodge.

Policies

ALCOHOL

Registered guests of legal age who choose to bring their own alcoholic beverages may drink those throughout the property. No alcohol on the hot tub deck. Please designate a sober driver for every person who needs to drive to town or other accommodations. We highly recommend hiring a shuttle for special events.

FIREARMS

Please adhere to all local, state, and federal firearm regulations. Law enforcement will be called if legal regulations are not adhered to.

PETS

Keep all pets confined to YOUR room, the lobby, and downstairs, NOT the restaurant upstairs. We do not allow any dogs in the North side lodging wing. Dogs must be on a leash at all times in the building. You must clean up after your dog outside. If your dog barks incessantly while in your room or the lodge common areas you will be asked to leave or referred to the kennel down the street. Any damage or mess will be deducted from your damage deposit.

SMOKING
For safety and to assure that our facility is not exposed to items or actions that are difficult to remove from the air, carpet, walls, and furniture, we do not permit smoking tobacco, marijuana, illegal drugs, e-cigarettes, vape pens, vaping, cartridges, hookahs, incense, cigars, candle burning, or essential oil diffusing. Should you need to smoke, please go outside at least 30 feet from the building (that means near your car in the parking lot). If the fire alarms or sprinklers are set off as a result of you smoking you will be charged a $1200 fine. Guests are encouraged to notify the staff immediately if they smell any smoking odors. This policy is not intended to stop people from smoking, but to regulate where and how it affects others.

QUIET HOURS

Noise should be kept to a minimum past 8:00pm outdoors and 10:00pm indoors. Please respect quiet hours from 10:00pm-9:00am. That means no screaming, partying, playing music, dj’ing, etc past these times. Let’s respect our neighbors!

Amenities

AMENITIES

Our additional amenities include ice, game room, fire pit, patio heaters, grill, and laundry. They are located on the bottom floor, down the stairs from the lobby. Please let us know if you need help working or using any of these amenities. Firewood is provided and can be found on the back patio. Propane is also provided for the grills and heaters. All tanks should be full when you arrive, but please notify our staff if you run out!

ADA/HANDICAPPED ROOMS

ADA compliant guest rooms are available and should be reserved in advanced. Please contact us directly to book. For more information about our property’s accessibility check out our accessibility policy HERE.

BREAKFAST

Help yourself to coffee, tea, hot chocolate, bagels, and cream cheese in the breakfast room off the lobby. Help yourself to the refrigerator, oven, and kitchen items. Please wash and put away any dishes you plan on using.

DIRECTIONS & PARKING

The best address for Google Maps is “71 Silverpick Drive; Durango, CO 81301.” Please instruct your guests to drive past the lodge on their left and park in the designated parking lot. The main lodge entrance is the one with a large patio as you drive up.

Please do not park along the road or behind the lodge. The area behind the Columbine room is for loading ONLY. We WILL call a tow truck if you are parked out of a designated parking area.

EVENT SPACES

Inquire with our team about booking our event venue. All event spaces are scheduled separate than lodging. The upstairs banquet hall will be locked at all times when not in use. Event guests may only be in the venue spaces during the times they are contracted for. Any access outside of these hours including rehearsals, tours, walkthroughs, etc. must be requested prior to guest arrival. Please let our staff know ahead of time (at the beginning of your stay) if you need to get in one to decorate, set up, etc. Please review our terms and conditions for our event venue HERE

LOCAL RECOMMENDATIONS
We’ve partnered with Durango Like A Local to bring you the best places to eat, things to do, and trails to hike in Durango and beyond. Written by locals for visitors just like you! Visit durangolikealocal.com for more information!

MAIL

You or your guests are welcome to ship packages, decor, or attire to the lodge at 71 Silverpick Drive; Durango, CO 81301. We will hold all packages at the front desk and they will be accessible Wednesday-Sunday between 9am-5pm when our front desk staff is on property. For organizational purposes, it works best to add Bride’s Name + Groom’s Name so we can find the correct party if the package hasn’t been picked up.

REFRIGERATION

There is a large refrigerator in the breakfast room, as well as two in the Columbine room that you can use during your stay. Coolers likely make the most sense for drinks to allow space in the fridge for other foods. No one except your licensed caterer will have access to the walk-in fridge in our catering kitchen.

SPA AREAS

The sauna, steam rooms, and hot tubs are available for you to use 24/7 during your stay. No lifeguard on duty. Kids under 14 must be accompanied by an adult at ALL times anywhere in the spa area. No dogs, food, drinks, or smoking is allowed in the Hot Tub area. Please notify lodge staff of any issues with any spa equipment. Please refer to the posted rules at the Hot Tub for more use guidelines and rules. These guidelines and rules are considered a part of our Hotel Policy/House Rules. Towels are provided. Please use the dedicated hot tub towels for the hot tubs and leave your room towels in your room!

STAFFING

Our lodging and events director will serve as your primary contact before, during, and after your stay. That being said, any of the Black Diamond staff will be happy to help you with any questions you have during your stay. Our front desk is staffed 9am-5pm many days of the week but our team is busy and frequently out and about. Please refer to your lodging registration for contacts for our virtual front desk, accessible anytime during your stay. We do have a night watchman who you may or may not see during your stay. We aim to have Black Diamond Staff on property at all times.

STORAGE

All outdoor gear including bicycles, skateboards, mountain bikes, skis, snowboards, etc, should be stored in the “Mud Room”, NOT in your lodging room. The Mud Room also functions as a great “staging” location for weddings and events. Please store your decorations and other event items in this room prior to use and not in the lobby or other common spaces.

WIFI INTERNET ACCESS

Our wifi is free for guests, and they are expected to use this access fairly and appropriately. The internet access is intended for general use such as email, messaging, or social media. It is not intended for heavy media streaming or extensive downloads or uploads. Access to illegal activity or the use of our network for illegal activity is prohibited and will be reported to local authorities. Should you need to work during your stay we recommend you go to one of the awesome Durango coffee shops for a more reliable and quick connection.

Sleeping in any common areas on couches or the floor, including the lobby, game room, movie room, or otherwise is prohibited. Room occupancy requirements are based on fire code/fire safety restrictions.  If you exceed the maximum number of guests allowed, you will be asked to vacate the hotel.

PROPERTY IMPROVEMENTS

The Black Diamond Lodge assumes the right to make any changes and/or improvements to the grounds or structures without the consent of any guests. 2022 is slated to be a major renovation year, but any changes will be communicated to the guests as early as possible and all construction will be scheduled around events as much as possible. Should any major construction impede your stay, necessary adjustments shall be made at the sole discretion of the Black Diamond Lodge staff.

PUBLIC ACCESS & SHARED SPACES

The Black Diamond Lodge reserves the right to book any of our event spaces during your lodging stay to another party. The lodging areas of the lodge, the spa, as well as the bottom floor of the building will be reserved for you and your lodging party only. The Black Diamond Lodge also has intentions to bring in a public bar and coffee shop to the property with hours to be determined. We will always work to ensure all parties have an amazing experience during their stay with us.

RATES

All rates are quoted in United States currency, plus tax.  Rates may increase without notice.  Rates as advertised on The Black Diamond Lodge website or any other website or promotional material are subject to change at any time and may increase or decrease at the hotel’s discretion.  All reservations are subject to availability.

The Black Diamond Lodge is privately owned and operated.  We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason(s) that does not violate Federal or State laws.  We have a zero tolerance policy for infractions of these terms and conditions.

ROOM ACCESS

To provide all of our guests with an exceptionally clean and safe hotel experience, we provide daily cleaning of all common spaces. We do not provide daily housecleaning of the lodging rooms, but do come through to collect trash once a day to also check for safety and verify the condition of the rooms. Management reserves the right to enter any lodge rooms at any time for emergencies, housekeeping, maintenance, safety, or to address or prevent a violation of our Terms and Conditions. Law enforcement will be granted immediate access to hotel property and rooms of evicted guests.

TENANCY

Nothing in this agreement shall constitute or create any tenancy or sub-tenancy. The management shall always be deemed to be in full and absolute possession of the whole of the hotel premises.

VEHICLES

The Black Diamond Lodge does not assume liability or responsibility for any vehicle, occupants, or contents while operated or parked on the hotel property.  If a vehicle is left in the hotel parking lot after the guest has departed without the written consent of the hotel, the hotel reserves the right to have the vehicle towed at the owner’s expense.
