Snowed In, Switched Up, Still On

It was one of those snow years that did not let up and by April the lodge was buried in it, walls of snow stacked high enough to block the view entirely, not just a dusting or a late storm but full winter still holding on

We gave McKenzie and Hannah a heads up early that this was not typical, sent over videos of massive snowbanks wrapping the property so they could see it for themselves because it almost did not make sense otherwise, the patio view they had planned on was completely gone and it was clear we needed a new plan

Instead of forcing something inside or overthinking it, they looked around and landed on the most unexpected option on the property, the parking lot. And it worked!

Snowbanks became the backdrop, greenery went in to break up all the white, rugs lined the aisle, and just like that the space shifted into something that felt intentional, clean, and fully theirs without trying to fight the conditions. The perfect setting, one that leaned all the way into the moment instead of working against it, and ended up being better for it.
